Hallå! Nu är det måndag och jag har sovmorgon som vanligt. Därför började jag morgonen med en god frukost tillsammans med min iPad. Har börjat kolla på Maria och Mindy, haha. Älskar Maria Montazami!
Det är häftigt när man varit här ett tag och förstår så himla mycket mer som händer i tv-program. T.ex. i programmet jag nyss kollade på hade Maria med sig en påse med stora morötter som inte är skalade i bilen, och Mindy tyckte det var något man gav till rådjuren. Här kan man nästan bara hitta skalade "mini-morötter," som i princip är vanliga stora morötter som är skurna till mindre format. Detta för att det ska vara lätt att ha som snack, så man inte behöver stå och förbereda. Det tar ju så lång tid i detta snack-ätande land!
Finally it's Monday again, and I got to sleep in as usual. Therefore I had a big breakfast this morning watching a Swedish TV show, "Maria and Mindy." Maria is known and loved from the show "Swedish Housewives of Hollywood," and Mindy, who is American, is her best friend. Maria takes Mindy to Sweden to go on a road trip, and it's hilarious. And to make thing a little more clear, this is a reality show. And I love it.
It's funny how, after a while here in the U.S., there's so much more in Tv shows that I can understand. I'll give you an example from the episode I just watched. When driving in Sweden, Maria brought a bag of carrots in the car for a snack, so she asked Mindy to grab the bag. The difference here bwetween Sweden and America is that in my country, we always buy the regular "big" carrots with the skin on, while here in America, people always buy "baby carrots," which are basically regular carrots chopped and peeled. So when Mindy saw this bag of carrots she said: "This is something you give to the deers!" Everything is about convenience here. Everything has to be done fast with doing as little as possible because people are so busy. Nothing wrong with that. It's just a different culture.
